Reading Circles
Mariam Mosque's Reading Circles are annually announced reading circles lead by Hasib Nasiri, Philosopher, lecturer,
and PhD in Islamic Theology at Uppsala University. Hasib has a MA. in Philosophy (SDU) and an expert in Islamic Feminism, Islamic theology, and Islamic philosophy.
Hasib has been leading the Mariam Mosque’s Reading Circles which have been active since September 2021 with over 50 participants.
The Reading Circles are announced every year in June and the actual circles begins in September each year with a maximum capacity of 20 participants divided in 2 groups of 10.
The participants begin with a general introduction to modern Muslim women's movements and go through a host of topics, such as:

The importance of the Islamic tradition in Muslim women's emancipation.

Feminist exegesis of the Qur'an.

Islamic feminist views on Hadith.

Critique of Western perceptions of Muslims women in general.

Institutionalization of Islamic feminism in Danish context.
The reading circles have been active since September 2021 with over 50 participants. Based on the participants requests the groups can continue past the first year's program to an advanced program in the second year.
At the time of writing there are 3 active groups (two in Danish, one in English) that meets separately once in a month for 3 hours discussions.
